Although it is older and the terminology has changed from MPD to DID this book(let) at 46 pages can be one of the simpler ways of presenting infomation to those who cannot grasp the complexities explained in other books and literature.
United We Stand ISBN: 0-9613205-9-1

order form for Echolalia Press

There are many other books with different approaches but based on your posts and your request of not too confusing we'd say start with this one and go from there.

kindly,

some ppl express it akin to a dam breaking when the dissociative parts begin stirring. Your therapist and a network of supportive people will be very important to getting through these times.

Express to your T what you know to be going on so that they can help set the pace and perhaps keep things from being quite so overwhelming and complicated.

When I first started with the T I have now at our second session he gave me a copy of " Can I Look Now?" I still go back and read and look over it from time to time. Is great in showing the stages you go thru.
Another book I have is "The Multiple's Guild To Harmonized Family Living" by. Tammy Whitman & Susan Shore. It's a great book as well. It took several months for me to get it 4 years ago because it's out of print. But if you can find it, it's worth owning. Alot of it has to do with communication between alters. A couple of chapters are, Processing Dissatisfaction and Resolving Disputes and Working Through Crises. I've gotten a lot from these 2 chapters.
There are a number of good books out there. Just have to find what will help you the most.
