I was wondering if any of you know of any good books on dissociation, especially DDNOS. There seems to be quite a few on DID and while I have learned from them, it would be nice to find something on DDNOS or with a section on it. If anyone knows of anything I would appreciate it!

If this helps we know a book you should avoid if you, like us, believe "alters" are not parts, but separate people : The Dissociative Identity Dissorder Sourcebook by Deborah Bray Haddock. It's a book mostly on DID but it does cover a bit on DDNOS.

Thank you for your reply, (Webber)Erik.

I am going to change my question a bit since I haven't gotten many responses. Anyone know any really good books on DID or other dissociative disorders in general?

I have looked some up and from what I saw on Google Books Got Parts? seemed to be pretty interesting, although I wasn't able to read it in its entirety.

And also, is there anyone here with DDNOS that knows of other places to go for information on that?

Actually,
I THINK we read this and it was rather good.... save for the titleand calling people "parts" from time to time....

there used to be a very extensive book list with a sticky here on these boards that was very helpful to me when I first came here. I just went looking for it for you but I couldnt find it. it isnt located with the stickys anymore. maybe a moderator/administrator can tell you why they removed it or moved it somewhere else and how to find it if it is still around here. if they removed it maybe they will give you permission to start a new sticky book list.

Thanks for this!

There is a list of books and articles in the Resource sticky at the top of the forum. It is a combination of articles and books and hopefully you can find some that will suit what you are looking for. I hope this helps.

Dear Catlovers141,
This isn't a book but has information on "dissociative disorder NOS" (lots of info plus comments and links). (just use Google, Yahoo, bing, and type in those words, maybe add the word "books"?) take care.

I'm new to this site or at least haven't been here for a long time. We wrote a book ... not sure how really good it is, but if anyone is interested I invite you to read it. It's "Ann's Multiple World of Personality, Regular No Cream No Sugar." I won't repost it in case we're on the border of advertising, which is most likely a no-no. I do want to hear what people think of it so if anyone reads it please let me know k? Thanks!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
