Hey ya'll,

Now I don't believe in lying...but if you can get her to eat..try things like some proteins like some peanut butter and jelly, or some cottage cheese and fruit, or chicken and rice or even just some whole milk with some chocolate in it for some calories...I'd love to see you get some Boosts or Ensures to drink because they have some nutrients and vitamins in them. Make sure she is drinking properly while exercising and getting some electrolyes in like Powerades or Gatorades as ED strips those. Even if you get some milkshakes down her for straight calories that's ok..but I think she will object less if you just get some healthy balanced food into her. If you can think of any professionals that might have any influence with her to get her some real help..try and see if you can get her to get some professional help or read some websites with true information about EDs. It is a very serious illness, and she needs real help to fight it. She needs lots and lots of love and encouragement and normally a lot of friends and family can actually hurt more than help because they don't know how best to help. It take true professionals that deal with just ED's. Be honest with her and tell her you are scared and love her and want help. Ask her to keep simple proteins and Boosts/Ensures in the house and to slow down the exercise addiction. I wish you the very best of luck, but until she asks for help there is little we can do but love her. If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to ask...Big Huggles to each of you for your bravery and honesty and for taking such good care of her...

I think it is okay to do what is needed to care for the body, but we do encourage you to tell her about it when you can, with very specific information. For instance: the body has been getting dizzy upon standing, and feeling very weak. It needed some protein and iron, so we ate 1/2 a roast beef sandwich today. Or: the body has had lots of muscle twitches and cramps lately. It needs some calcium and potassium, so today we had 3/4 cup cereal with 1/3 cup milk and 1/2 banana to make us feel better physically. You're right, she might get mad, but if you can explain the specific reasons it should help facilitate communication and understanding.

Ok, i googled foods high in protein. Parmesan Cheese is high in protein. You can buy it fresh and sliver it in a salad. Yum. She should like that because she likes dairy. Also soy beans.
