I am someplace between awake and asleep and cannot ground myself. I feel my Dad's presence everywhere and he's scaring me. I know he's thousands of miles away, but he's like an evil spirit that won't leave. I'm scared and confused and locked within my own personal hell.

I saw my T tonight and we did some nurturing work. He is a wonderful therapist. But I'm all confused. I switched. I get really confused when I switch. I feel so lost.

anne i'm so sorry for what youre going through. i've been going through the same thing for weeks. this is whats worked for me. i sit on the edge of my bed or the edge of a chair and hold a pillow very tight and keep my eyes open and remind myself of who i am and where i am and that he is not there. i have olfactory hallucinations and sometimes i go crazy cleaning and that doesnt help. someone here told me about grounding techniques and they do work you just have to give it a chance. i am here if you need me.
wish i could take your pain away. hang in there.

I so know what you're going through. I know you feel isolated and afraid. Know that you're not alone in the fears, ok?

Keep doing alot of "self-talk" right now and hopefully it will help to bring things back around for you. That's about all I can do in times like this...that and reach out for caring hearts.

we care,

kd

iamanne,

Remind yourself-

In the PRESENT I am safe

In the HERE AND NOW, I am an adult and I would not allow anyone to hurt my child-self.

It is over and I am OK.

Comfort your child-self to let her know she is SAFE.
I use distractions so that I don't get "stuck" in the past.(do something that you like doing to take your mind off it.)

I know it is a dreadful feeling. My thoughts are with you.

Thank you everyone for your support. I do need a tremendous amount of hugs right now. I'm feeling better but still find myself dazed and confused. It's hard to keep track of my thoughts and to concentrate. I'm also starting down that path of beating myself up. And I felt soooo good last week. This does stink.

I try to ground myself, all of your suggestions have been great because when I feel like this, I can't think straight and go into my bag of tricks of self-help. The article on grounding techniques I printed out so I would have something tangible to hold.

My little girl feels like I abandoned and rejected her because of yesterdays session. I didn't I don't think - maybe I did - I don't know. I guess I'm still confused. So sorry that I feel like this. I feel like a burden GROUNDING: HELP: CONFUSED! GROUNDING: HELP: CONFUSED! GROUNDING: HELP: CONFUSED! GROUNDING: HELP: CONFUSED!

soooooo, now I'm grounded, kind of, but now I'm very sad. I feel like I've been rejected and am no good and who cares if I'm here or there or anywhere!??

I don't understand life. I don't understand anything and I am frustrated. Why do I keep getting triggered? Just when I think I'm feeling better - actually, the last few days have been tough. So what's new, it's always tough - I either heal or go through life taking what's been handed to me with no control, no feeling blah blah blah blah GROUNDING: HELP: CONFUSED! what's the use . . . . . .

iamanne,

I'm feeling pretty rough too at the moment, so I hope I make sense.

The FEELING of being sad and the FEELING of being rejected are probably from the PAST too.

So you have grounded yourself quite well, feel safer but still have feelings coming through.

I think it is part of the recovery process, that we keep going through these things.

Give yourself a pat on the back because it's hard working having to keep grounding all the time.

My T reasures me that it won't be like that forever.

Sending you a hug>>>>>>>

iamanne; I know dear one. It gets so warped in our heads.
