Hi! I'm new to psych central, and not sure how everything works yet. I just want to introduce myself to others out there who deal with dissociative disorders. My dx was only revealed to me about 6 or 7 months ago, as DID, though the T had known for a while and wanted to ease me into it. I really function more like DDNOS. No big amnesia's. It's taken me a very long time to get the courage to reach out for support from others.

My big challenge that I think I'll be facing very soon, probably this week, is that a new alter (said he was "Forgotten") has made himself known to me and has also made it clear he "carries the garbage". Since we've already remembered a lot of our past, I'm wondering what I'm in for and getting myself ready to face new stuff. I think I'm the only one in the system that doesn't know what's coming, because the others are not very concerned about his presence.

I'm sure I'll be looking for support soon. In the meantime I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you. Crystal Lady

Thanks for this!

Hi crystal lady! Welcome! Good luck with your "garbage carrier." He/she will probably be relieved to no longer be forgotten. Though you may feel worse initially, I hope you will feel much better afterwards.
