There is a chance that one of my alters may be manic depressive. I am somewhat new to all this DID. If I have an alter that is manic depressive does that mean that the original is manic depressive? Is it possible for my alter to be manic depresive and not the original? I am still trying to figure out how this works.

only your treatment providers can answer whether your original is manic when your alter is manic.

again only your treatment provider can say whether your internal system of alters is set up so that an alter is manic and the host (your word original) is not.

everyone's internal system is different. some have alters that have the same health issues and others do not. and some have a mixture of shared and not shared health issues including mental health issues.

in general it is possible to go either way or both. but in relation to your own internal system to find that out you need to contact your treatment providers.

Thank you for your response. I will talk to my t the week. Also I use the word host to reference me because I do not believe I am the original. I think she is someone who comes and talks at session every now and than but I am not sure.
