I often point people here in the dissociative boards to the DSM website page on dissociative disorders..

so I thought everyone would like to know that the american psychiatric association has entered the final stage of compiling/writing/revising the DSM for publication. part of that apparently is removing the webpages that tell the diagnostic criteria for all the mental disorders so that confusion and use of outdated diagnostics of the disorders.

speaking only for my posts, they will continue to reflect the currently used diagnostics for DID that was listed in the DSM IV TR until the DSM5 is available to the public.

I cant wait to see the finalized /updated DSM and what we (treatment providers and clients alike here in NY which is in the USA) will soon be going by for diagnosing dissociative disorders.

general news about the DSM5 is still available at http://www.dsm5.org/Pages/Default.aspx

I forgot to add in my post that the new DSM isnt due out until around May 2013. sorry if I got some people jumping the gun with worry about all the proposed revisions. its going to be a while yet. I just didnt want others to worry when they tried to use the link I pointed them to in previous posts of mine.
