(edit- sorry I think the correct term is DID. I forgot.)
I'm only curious. I'm sure it's just my paranoia but I am terrified of having MPD. I pay very close attention to time and I'm very observant of my surroundings. I don't notice I lose time unless I'm on the computer. Nothing is ever out of place, I'M never out of place, but I have dreams that I'm not sure are dreams. I've tested this and unless I'm leaving in my sleep and coming back and using the same caution and genius to catch myself to cover up for myself then I don't know how I could be doing it. Do you usually have major clues that you've switched? Have you switched and your alter covered up to make sure you didn't know? Is switching in your sleep and leaving a thing? I'm sorry if this is stupid but I've been driving myself even more insane with this. A friend of mine told me I wouldn't notice.... I mean, I do have serious time distortion. Idk if that's a thing either or maybe just memory issues. I have no idea how much time has passed, how many days it's been, weeks, months, years. I can chart out certain life events but I really can't go out and tell you how long since something or even tell you MOST of my life. I used to have people come up to me all the time and tell me about some party I was at or something that I don't recall doing and that still happens expect now I usually don't talk to people. I am not asking for you to diagnose me, I'm just wondering if I would notice if I had mpd and if time distortion is related to it. thanks... |

some people have clues and some people do not.. I did not know I had DID until my therapist had me go through testing and the psychiatrist told me when giving my therapist and I the results of my evaluation. All my life I just thought I had a terrible memory and everyone else was the way I was with hearing voices, and other symptoms. if you think you may have DID or in your terms mpd contact your treatment providers. there are tests you can do and then your treatment providers will tell you if you have it or not. |

You may or may not notice that something 'feels' wrong. To get a proper diagnosis you need to see some one who is qualified. Any mental illness may feel wrong.
Don't give up. Find a person you are comfortable talking with and this will facilitate the whole diagnosis process. Take Care |

Are there many professionals in NE Florida? Have you seen All of them? Maybe you might need to travel just a little further to get help. Is it possible that you find it hard to trust in general? Trusting is not an easy thing to do.
Chin up. Life is hard. Some-one will be the right fit for you. It is scary but worthwhile when you find the help you need. |

I do have problems trusting doctors. I've been yanked around and **** on by them my entire life. Modern psychology is just another excuse for them to treat me like I'm stupid. I just need to find a Doc that isn't so mainstream and maybe someone with a SOUL, but I have little faith that I will find that.... |
