What type do they use? Is there any?
I know that there is recreational drugs that can make you more dissociative but are there drugs that can help? DO stimulants make you more dissociative or less? (Hard question) Edit: K i found out that stimulants are dissociatives (i know not a word) Last edited by Anonymous33445; Jul 30, 2013 at 06:57 PM.. |

I have known a lot of people who dissociate that are treated with antipsychotics.
I don't know how it helps, but I've heard from a few of them that some antipsychotics help. |

What helps me the most is anti anxiety medication. Most of the time when I am triggered I am experiencing a lot of anxiety. I also take zoloft and that has helped with the compulsuive thinking. My dosage is low but it still allows me to function yet be able communicate with my alters. This helps with therapy. I have never taken anything else.

example if I am depressed and having dissociation symptoms then antidepressants help me, if I am having dissociation symptoms due to anxiety then my anxiety meds work, If I am having dissociation symptoms due to my bipolar disorder then my meds for that works. I know someone who has dissociative symptoms related to their having ADHD. this person is on a stimulant and it works for them on helping to control their dissociative symptoms. it all boils down to each person is different so each person is going to react their own way to medications. some will work for one person and wont work for another in regards to their dissociative symptoms. |

I have taken klonopin (clonazepam) in a small dose for a very long time to help with anxiety and decrease switching. Antipsychotics made me worse rather than better.

If you are asking if there are any meds that will fix dissociation....... none.
There are some that may help anxiety or sleep issues. Lots of drugs for lots of things but nothing for DID. |
