I have a great relationship but sometimes it hurts. I hurt inside, my girlfriend knows she is always there!! She knows of my parts but do not want to know in detail. I think that is fair. I feel good about that she do not know the details, she is older than me and she is always there.
But why does love hurt? Bloem

Hi Bloem. Relationships are hard. It's like a full time job. Have you checked out the relationship and communication forum? You may find the answers you need there.

Love hurts for lots of reasons. I don't know your history, but sometimes love gets mixed in with abuse when we are little and it is hard to straighten out. For me it is just hard because both me and my husband have our own separate feelings and reactions and we trigger feelings in each other. For so long I would dissociate and not have to feel or deal with it, but now that I am more grounded I "get" to deal with it all - not fun. I realize that no one can always meet my needs in the perfect way, but it does hurt when things don't happen perfectly for me...
