I've recently realized that I have a somewhat unique "coping skill". While I do journal sometimes, I've recently been writing poems to communicate with the younger parts of me, instead of just talking, or writing. It seems to have more of an impact on both myself (calming me down) and on them (reassuring, and understanding). It's like they tune out poetry less than normal "boring" talks.
I have written a few, one a simple bedtime calm down, and a couple more about specific things that come up. The bedtime one is now a routine with us, and we are all much more relaxed and feeling safe than if we just try to go to sleep. ![]() I was just wondering if anyone else has some interesting/different/helpful ways they cope/self-support? I'd be interested in hearing about them!!

I write poetry too. it is a great way of getting things out and very calming too. I have even written poems to my doc and therapist when I was unable to talk to them or have something really bugging me that I wanted to discuss
