I saw my dr today for some issues I'm having with sleeping. She wants me to do a sleep study but I'm terrified of the whole thing.
Most people that I explain my multiplicity to don't really get it, or worse, don't believe it.
I have a bedtime routine that I do with the younger parts to help them calm down, and when I switch to the youngest one, who always comes out when I'm most scared, she sucks her thumb. I don't even know how I'd manage sleeping with my stuffed bear (bring it and be embarrassed, or leave it and be scared?) let alone the thumb sucking. Sigh.

I tried to tell my dr how worried I was but she is of the mind that I make too big a deal out of everything anyway. She just dismisses my issues and then went back to asking me when I'm planning on getting back to work.

She put the referal through and said I would get an appointment within a couple weeks most likely. Has anyone ever done a sleep study? I wish there was a way I could have a support person with me, talking me through the process, explaining anything that was going to happen, etc. I dont' know of anyone who would do that for me, though, professional or personal.

I'd bring the bear. Yeah you might feel silly but if you can't sleep you can't be studied. I bring mine when I'm on the road.
