Hi and welcome Hello, Need help understanding how this site works.

I am DID but I do not use the chat rooms here. You can find - MY - experiences with having DID, - MY - therapy plans for working on - MY - DID, and - MY - 5-6 years of research on this disorder in my blog.

Please note - These are MY experiences. if yours is different that is ok. just take from my blog what you can use and pass on the rest.

Also -

SINCE NO ONE CAN FORCE ANYONE HERE TO READ POSTS, THREADS AND BLOGS BY CLICKING ON THE BLOG LINK YOU ARE ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN WELL BEING. THERE MAY BE SOME TRIGGERING MATERIAL DEPENDING ON WHAT YOUR OWN PERSONAL TRIGGERS ARE. THEREFORE I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE SHOULD A READER CHOOSE TO READ AND THEN BECOME UPSET ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE CHOOSING TO READ.

http://myself.psychcentral.net/2006/...ate-the-blogs/

As for how this site runs -

basically members read and reply to posts and threads and start threads of their own as they feel comfortable for free.

Sometimes this part comes to a shock to some members after they have been here for a bit so - the site is free because Psych Central is publically advertized and they recieve donations from those advertizements.

What this means is that psych central is public accessable to members and non members alike. There is no guarentee who is coming in here and reading so only post what you are comfortable with other people knowing including those outside of this community area.

welcome angel,

i've been dx with d.i.d. too. i find it a lot easier to "talk" to others on a forum. they can relate.they don't look at you weird, wondering if you're going to "change". they don't send you a bill. they've helped me accept myself and dx. i can talk "out loud" better at the "t's" office. hope you find it a big help too. you're among friends.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
