Today I participated in a yoga study. I forgot how much I love yoga!! It made me feel present in the moment and at peace. Towards the end I was super calm and happy. The instructor had us in a pose that was a little bit uncomfortable and she said that instead of going into the fight or flight response I should just breathe through it and get through the discomfort, finding what makes me comfortable. This connects to my depersonalization emmensly! Anyone who has depersonalization knows it's a deep rooted anxiety thing and our flight or fight mechanism is to go into depersonalization so what she said brought me to understand even more that I need to breathe in through hard times and let them happen and just go with them, taking it all in, and breathe out, letting it all go. It was a great session and I will continue to do yoga on a weekly basis. Namaste

That is great that this has been helpful to you! I have a lot of problems with depersonalization too, and it is good to hear that yoga could be a grounding technique to try.

Self-hypnosis can also help some people with dissociative issues. Regards, Margaret

@childlikempress it is amazing for it. It helps with mindfulness and breath. Keeping those in mind helps you feel rooted to the earth.
