Denial is a big part of DID, after all Denial is what created the DID to begin with..... so that you could cope and go on.... Surviving the unthinkable... by detaching it so you can function daily..

Every system is different (depending on what caused the splitting to begin), but just to acknowledge it and start to wrap your mind around it is part of the healing process...... remember the parts of you were created by you to protect you.... so of course there is going to be denial...

It is not an easy road to take, to face why you have a DX of DID, because everything you thought about your life gets flipped upside down as you slowly learn why and what caused the splitting to occur....

Don't focus on the diagnosis, focus on the healing... that is the best advice I can give you.....
