Hi,

Well, it happened again today at therapy. There we were talking and all of a sudden his face started fading away. There was a real sense of derealization. However, as soon as I noticed it, I told T that I was drifting. It was almost time to stop and we talked for a few minutes about how I was feeling. He said that either he was way off topic or that something he said and what we were talking about was triggering a defense. He wasn't off topic. I concentrated (or so I thought) on getting home safely. It's a 50 minute drive. I was trying all the way home to remember what he had said and processing the session. I couldn't remember everything. By the time I got home, I was hungry, tired and very anxious. I called T and asked him if he could call me back that I needed to process something. He called about 2 hours later and we talked. He very gently said that I was trying to understand something and tried to help me by talking through my feelings. After about 10 minutes the conversation ended, with me feeling better and a little less anxious. I freaking hate it when this happens. It does not feel good.

I am sorry that therapy was so hard but how great how you felt after talking to him on the phone. He sounds wonderful. I am glad you found him to help you heal. Take care.

Sounds like you have a good T.

Hang in there because it does get easier.
