Hi, there.

I'm Megan. It's my job to get things done. Unfortunately, our host is someone to juggle too many balls in the air at once, so it's my job to ensure we handle them all.

I like clocks- time is everything, you know, writing lists and reading blogs that are helpful, you know: how to have a productive day, how to make the most of a day, and so on.

Oh, and that feeling you get when you look back at a well spent day- proud.

And birds. They're all blessed with such a lovely voice-box.

Go ahead and introduce yourselves. I'd love to hear from you.

Regards,
Megan.

I find Psych Central helps me find answers where before there were only questions. There is so much here. It is like a buffet of help, everyone picks what they like the best.

Besides being an active participant in helping oneself at Psych Cental, many people also help support each other by replying to other people's posts. Many people who are actively involved in Psych Central find it helps take them out of their own problems to develop empathy for others. And their problems are more manageable the more they help others.

Glad you are joining us here. Some people find the forums give them the compassion and empathy they seek. http://forums.psychcentral.com

Please feel free to private message me or any of the Community Liaisons by left clicking on the name in blue to the left of their post) for questions or just to share.

I see you are relatively new here...

a bit of information....

DID is a dissociative disorder, which means the host (by host I mean my locations definition of person born to the body) / or alters (those that reside with in the same body) that are presently in control of the body become triggered by something which causes dissociative symptoms (feeling numb, spaced out, disconnected) and switching occurs so that the alter that takes control can take care of what ever caused the dissociation problem..

triggers can be positive or negative and alters with DID are a special kind. briefly they have their own jobs, purposes reasons for being....

why am I telling you this...so that you can understand my reply....

I noticed you havent gotten any replies of alters introducing their self... it may be a situation like mine where in order for my alters to be able to reply/introduce their self had I not been integrated (one whole person again) I or what ever alter was in control at the moment of reading this thread or other posts here on psych central, a few things had to happen...I or what ever alter who happened to be in control before coming on psych central would have had to come on here and be triggered by something in this thread or other threads/posts, which in turn would have caused my\the alters dissociative symptoms. which in turn which ever alter who's job purpose reason for being was to handle that trigger would have taken over. for me that would mean that if something here on psych central had triggered me the resulting alter would have avoided that trigger by either logging me off psych central or using the ignore button that allows members to protect their self against being triggered.

pretty strange huh alters protecting hosts and each other from what triggers them but thats what in part DID is in my location.

theres also a situation here in america where treatment providers are not able to call out alters or even teach their clients to call out /dissociate on purpose so that an alter will take control due to laws/ethics and a situation called false memory syndrome/creating false alters for a treatment providers attention....

my point is its a great idea for a thread to ask the alters to introduce their self but for some it may be a case of so many diverse things have to line up in order for it to happen, so that the reality is that for some its only a minute possibility of it happening.

I just dont want you to feel lost and alone if not many alters respond to this thread. DID and OSDD is very unpredictable and theres no way to predict when and which alter will be in control.

there are many people with DID\OSDD here with alters so you are not alone. How I got to know some of the members and their alters here is by just taking the time to read that members posts. when I read a post that was interesting or something in the post jumped out at me I would click on that members name. then select read all that members posts. this way if their alters happened to have posted I could read and learn about them.

Though if I hadnt been integrated I can tell you what some of my alters were like...

Rainy was one of my sad/depressed alters, all she did was curl upunder her blanket, hold her toys and cry.

thelma was one of my sexualized alters who would take control any time that was an issue.

sunny was my happy love life alter who would take control to handle happy things in my life.

maybe for those who have to be triggered and then dissociate in order for their alters to take control and those who due to laws/ethics / against their treatment programs cant purposely dissociate ...maybe they not their alters can let you know wh at their internal system of alters is like....

Hi Megan! I'm Susie

We have many others, but most of them hate being on here or can careless. I think I'm discovering that I've got fragments too. Lately, we've been so busy with work that I haven't been allowed out much, unlike the last few months of being a homebody.

I like guys and gals, gossiping, watching TV drama, cleaning house and taking care of our home needs. I'm also like the emotional connection to family life. Some of these others are cold as ice, brrrr

So, nice to meet you!

Megan, when (if) you read this, know that:

Firstly, I am grateful that you help me out but I don't need it. I can do things for myself, so back off. I don't need you intervening throughout my day, because all it does it make me forget. Do you know I can't remember Wednesday morning? I have no recollection of typing a music list, or a story. I have no recollection of there being a power outage at work. I have nothing to go on, but a colleague mentioning the darkness and the delay it caused. P.S. he mentioned this yesterday! I'm assuming this lack of memory is thanks to you.

Secondly, I don't appreciate you making your own threads on my page.

And get this through your head- I DON'T WANT THIS. I don't want to forget my day. I don't want you posting on my page. I don't want to be typing this because a part of me feels I'm talking to myself, and yet I'm not.

I want normal. I want a life-a normal one.

I just want you, all of you ,to go away.

Regards,
Cari.

Thank you for this information . I am grateful that you took the time to send this.

I wasn't asking my alters to introduce themselves to me. One my mine , wanted to meet other peoples. At least that's what I think.

Thanks again, Amanda.

Cari,
We're trying to help you. That's all there is to it. Be reasonable about this. We've been here all along for you, and now that you're suspecting we exist, you want to get rid of us, deny we're here. Denying our existence isn't going to make us go away.

So, calm down, relax, breathe and just let us do what we need to. You don't remember that day, and understandably you're upset, but Megan stepped in because work was piling up, and on our own, you might not have been able to handle it all. So please, don't be upset with her. She's only doing what she needs to.

Regards,
Isabelle.

unfortunately here on psych central we can only have one account per body\altered systems so maybe this isnt that ones fault...

example because of how psych central is set up, rules and such, I and those who lived inside of me before I was integrated..Rainy, Sunny,Thelma....we all had to have only one account where everyone read and posted on. Rainy could not have her own account, sunny could not have her own account, thelma could not have her own account....everyone had to share one account and post in threads on one account.

a moderator can explain this more to you if needed. you can message them by clicking on the names in different colors from everyone else

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
