Hello All,

I hope everyone here is doing well. I haven't been logging on recently since I was diagnosed with Complex PTSD, and been busy trying to get treatment for it. I found a new therapist who specialized in dissociation who is WONDERFUL, and she does not believe I have DID. She believes I just pathologically dissociate due to the PTSD. For the treatment we are gonna try something called EMDR and I'm REALLY hoping it works. I'm so sick of being up all night talking to myself instead of sleeping. If anything, I think I might suffer from DDNOS since in my alter states I am still always myself. There is just a disconnect between my memory and myself, and then I block what I say and do in these trance states out of my mind.

Anyway, I just thought I'd check in with everyone. I'm sure most of the people here also have PTSD since it goes hand in hand with DID and other dissociative disorders. If anyone has any advice to give me, or some insight into EMDR, I'd love to have it!

Sincerely,

Jen :-)

Welcome back, Jen . We truly hope the treatment works for you all, too. Take care.

Hi Jen! Welcome back! I've been thinking of you.

I'm very interested in hearing more of what you are going through, please don't go.

PTSD is in the dissociative spectrum, so it's not like your in the wrong forum or anything.

It's awesome that you have found a T that's a specialist and taking forward steps like EMDR. Good luck with that, and let us know how that goes, keep us posted please.
