(((((((( ShadowsinTheDay ))))))) Crys

T would understand and be very compassionate. A child-part that feels like that needs support and help.

Please know that we understand, and take care.

Ok. But why when I asked what the T would do on the shizophrenia board, they just said she'd up the pill, and when I asked here, you said that for an Inner Child, Ego State, or DID, they would go conpassonate? I'm getting confussed. Sorry.

I think that both of those would be something T would look at before deciding what to do. Remeber your T wants the best for you!

Schizophrenia is very different from DID therefor you would have got a different response in that forum.

Without knowing your history it's difficult to say what's right for you. Even so it would be a good idea to share your thoughts with your T.

Take care.

If this was my therapist the first thing she would do is ask me questions on what she calls her assessment sheet which is a paper she uses in deciding what her next step is - upping the appointment schedule or going with the client to the ER for an assessment for intake on the Mental Health Unit. The reason she does this is because this therapy agency has set protocals that the therapists must go by for suicidal and self injury stuff. And to my therapist it don't matter which is the one engaging in suicide or self injury. She says in order for her DID clients to be switching into altered states that contain this type of behavior the person must be triggered and thinking about this kind of behavior which results in them switching into that suicidal alter. May sound weird to some but my therapist does not treat alters and the person as separate people. this agency treats DID with the focus on the whole person not encouraging separation. So when an alter is suicidal then the person is also feeling triggered by something so much that they too want to die but for some reason are unable to complete the act, which is why they have switched into that alter so that they can complete the suicidal threat or act.

The therapist would be compassionate. Even my "mean" T was compassionate when lucy was obviously in pain. And yes he believed in her. Could he have been "lying"? I'll never know Crys Crys Crys

((( fuzzy))) the T has no reason to lie, and really no self interest in such a thing (it serves a T no personal advancement to do this.)

I have yet to find any person with this disorder not have a part of them that wants to end it all. I think it's because that part doesn't know any other way to end the suffering being felt? Once the T can address the issue and work through it with the part, and find another solution for coping, the desire to die everyday i.e. will subside.
