Does any member here know what percentage of MH consumers diagnosed with PTSD and CPTSD are also diagnosed with Dissociation. I don't mean only DID but any type of dissociation. Where there are times one forgets periods of times where one can't recall what they did. I'm excluding any memory problems caused by any form of dementia. alcohol or drug induced blackouts. This is a curiosity question.

Several months after the traumas I started to experienced a lot of depersonalization that came & went for years afterward but that was like me watching me in a movie.

Only time I lost days was when I finally left my H & moved 2100 miles away.....but I didn't loose it from dissociation...days just went by with nothing to help me keep track of time....I was always there just not very functional unless I forced myself to be.

I don't know that those numbers you are asking about are even available as many have such different reactions with their PTSD.....will be interested to read other replies....good question

each mental health agency in the USA keeps their own statistical data on how many clients they are treating, what mental disorders are being treated and percentages. therefore to find out that information you will need to contact your own mental health agencies. they can give you their statistics for mental health agencies in your area.

what I can tell you is that in 2013 the USA changed over to a new standard of diagnostics. PTSD now does include a specifier for dissociation in the areas of depersonalization derealization.

what that means is any time a treatment provider diagnosis's their clients with PTSD they now must state whether that person has depersonalization derealization symptoms.

As for CPTSD... america no longer has a mental disorder called Complex PTSD. the trauma and related mental disorders for america are now called....

reactive attachment disorder
Disinhibited Social Engagement Disorder
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Acute Stress Disorder
Adjustment Disorders
Other Specified Trauma and stressor related disorder
Unspecified Trauma and stressor related disorder

Those located in the USA who have a past diagnosis of CPTSD can talk with their treatment providers for finding out how their symptoms transfer over to the new diagnostic labeling.

outside of the USA they may still use the diagnostic Labeling of CPTSD.

my point if you are looking for american demographics./statistics you wont find any on CPTSD because that label no longer exists since 2013 here.
Thanks for this!
