Hi there,
New here. I got the link to this forum from a friend... I was diagnosed as DID/MPD several years ago by a private Psychiatrist several years ago. I don't see him anymore. I've had several good & bad years & didn't think much about it. I'm seeing a therapist for 6 months & a Psychiatrist for three years. My Psychiatrist diagnosed me with Anxiety & depression but during our latest session she confirmed my previous diagnosis. I'm seeing her again this week for inspection after a month & I'm quite nervous about it, so figured talking to other people with similar condition may help me reduce the anxiety. I've had a bad experience with another DID community - guess they've had one with us too. I got banned for reasons I can't come to term with- mostly I think differences in values & mentality as well as misunderstanding of both sites. Hope to have a better experience in this one. I don't bite unless provoked ![]() PS- Got this link from a friend & figured I'd check it out... |

you mention you were banned on another site heres where you will find the rules of this site so that you can maybe not get banned here http://forums.psychcentral.com/rules...-8-2014-a.html not sure what you mean by inspection. but my ...guess... is that its the equivalent of a psychiatric evaluation ( a testing process to diagnose what actual mental disorders a person has) here in america talking to those with the disorder doesnt help because though each person must meet the same diagnostic criteria each persons internal system is comprised in what ever ways they needed to survive.... for example .... one person may hear voices another may not, one person may feel disconnected where as another may not, one person may have a great amount of a special kind of memory problems and another may not. one person may have two alters of the same kind another may have many of many different kinds... here in america diagnostics for mental disorders also take into consideration ones own locations definitions, ones own culture and much much more. my point here in america when one goes talking to others about what to expect and what problems \symptoms they must have and other stuff it tends to end up getting them diagnosed with things they may not agree with or like because in their heads things got mish mashed together with what they actually have and what their mind creates in order to fit in with what they find online. its best to just be honest with what your own problems and symptoms are with the person administering the inspection. that way you will get the right diagnosis and treatment options based on what your own needs, problems and symptoms are. you will find many people here with many different kinds of symptoms, some even have more than one diagnosis so their problems you read about may fit their DID or their other mental disorders or a combo of the two. Example I have bipolar disorder, PTSD disorders, MS (multiple Sclerosis) depression, and dissociative disorders. though my past diagnosis was DID that has been down graded due to my alters and I have integrated became one whole person again. you can read about what america goes by for mental disorders in my links at the bottom of my posts. |

Evaluation here means the Psy is checking out how the new med is working for me.
Well, the new med didn't cure me.I've been taking 2.5 mg of Olanzapine for a month now.I just figured out I need it so I can go to sleep. what bothers me the most in my condition is that I have a severe anxiety. So 2.5 mg Olanzapine is supposed to help my anexity. Because before that ,I was in fear bordering terror al the time. Well, that Psych told me that I am a classic case study of DID. Maybe not, I said. She said, no you have DID But sometimes I feel Bi-Polar No, you're not Bi-Polar, you're DID. She replied. So I don't see the point of furter discussion of it. She thinks this is a severe disorder & rare condition. But she is very symapthetic & genuinely feel sorry for me so I like that. |
