I've pushed aside a few times, but thought I would just go ahead and ask the question.

What is a green check mark and why did that get taken away?

Forgive me for asking a stupid question, but I don't understand and I want to.

Thank you.

The green check marks that show up next to a thread in the thread listing of any forum denote that you have posted in that thread.

And btw, it's not a stupid question!
Thanks for this!

When you click on the dissociative disorders forum (for example) you will see the list of threads. If you are not signed in as trailrunner )ie - viewing as a guest) you will not see any check marks down the righ side of the table.
If you are signed in as you you will see a green check mark next to all of the threads you have posted in on that page. If you haven't posted in a thread there will be no check mark, signed in or not.
The check mark is a quick way to let you know what threads you have posted in. Every time you log out you will not see them. Every time you log back in you will see them again.
Thanks for this!

I just played around to figure this out...

at the top of each thread is the word ....thread tools

you click on that

click on subscribe to thread.

this will make a green check mark appear marking you have posted or subscribed to that thread.

to make the green check mark go away just unsubscribe to that thread.
Thanks for this!

All this is on my iPad iPhone and they are the same. I've changed my theme but it keeps loosing a cookie and always reverting back to this one (psych central) so I quit trying.

thanks amanda, i was thinking it was the subscription thing but i have it turned off

you can turn on notifications in the my profile settings - and under the settings and options list "Edit Options"

scroll down and can see
Quote:
Default Thread Subscription Mode When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
Default Thread Subscription Mode:
http://forums.psychcentral.com/profi...do=editoptions

you can set it to not send notifcations... set it to always send notifications.. or make it weekly or daily so that you will either get a list of notifications from all of your subscribed threads daily or weekly...

turning it on here should make every thread you post in a subscribed thread so you dont have to click the thread tools link at the top... but you may not want to subscribe to every thread so this might not be something everyone interested in

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
