Right now, I'm blasting music at a deafening volume in an effort to get out of this state. I think it's starting to work but the moment it stops, I go right back to it. Are there any other techniques that work well? Should I just let it happen at this point and get out of it later? Should I just go to bed?

Probably too late to help, but here are some of the things I try.
-rub an ice cube on the inside of my arm
-eat something sour
-rub something either soft or abrasive
-take a shower and pay attention to how the water feels
-pet my dog
Thanks for this!

I'll probably go through this again in the near future. I'll use these things the next time around. I really appreciate the reply, I don't care that it's a little late; it's still useful information.
