Well we did it....or they did it. The guys called our abusive father while totally drunk and told him about our condition.

He straight up said it was trauma based and this is why we did what we did forever, and said we couldn't handle the spankings and hitler style parenting.

Is this offered as an excuse? Jab? Explanation?

I think we just wanted the truth to be known, period. Whatever happened after that happens, not like it's going to make a bit of difference anyways....30 years later..

I'm also hoping that this takes some power away from the triggers.

We actually feel better for it today because we've been wanting to say it. It took quite a few beers for it to happen though....still have a lot of work ahead of us.
