I have felt these feelings for a long time and no one really takes them seriously or has been able to help me. I just told my psychiatrist two weeks ago - I called - because I was feeling worse than usual. He didn't have any suggestions but said it sounded like anxiety and said that I should start seeing a therapist (I've been to therapy so many times.... Never helped).

I have this feeling like my body is lifting out of my body a lot of the time. It's a very strange feeling and it almost gives me a feeling of flying. Then I also get that feeling that my hands are very large and then I get thoughts of picking up something small and it makes me get a very disturbing feeling that disgusts me. I feel the feeling like my hands are swelling and expanding like balloons, just like Comfortably Numb, by Pink Floyd. I remember having this happen when I was a kid and had a really high fever. I think that was the first time and then now I have it now, as an adult. It's strange and I hate it.

Sometimes time just passes when I'm watching TV and I don't even know what happened because I'm lost in thought. I have obsessive thoughts and think of the same things over and over and obsess over them. I almost have racing thoughts I suppose, but not as bad now that I'm on meds.

I hate this out of body experience, has anyone else felt this or felt the swelling? I googled it and it said there is a such thing as Alice in Wonderland syndrome. What can cure this, has anyone cured theirs?

here in my location this also is not called dissociation, like what you found when you googled here where I am its called alice in wonderland syndrome and it comes with things like psychosis, and physical health problems like migraines, sleep deprivation, and other physical health problems....

the cure for me was medication for my MS (a neurological\ physical health problem), eating correctly for my body and getting enough sleep.

suggestion since this problem is primarily a medical health problem maybe you can get help through your medical doctor. they will be able to test you for all the physical health problems like mono, sleep deprivation, cancer, migraines and others that cause this problem in you. then the cure is just to take care of what ever physical health problem that is causing it. for psychosis the cure is ant psychotics\ antidepressants.

some of those symptoms definitely could be depersonalization or derealization that is caused from anxiety and/or even a medication maybe.

i have had the experience where it feels like my hands are unusually large which for me was a symptom of dissociation likely at that time more related to sleep deprivation..i have a lot of variations of dissociative symptoms in general though, some that are not 'documented' under dissociative disorders in the DSM because it would be hard to actually have every dissociative experience a person has had listed since it can differ even though there are some more common ones.

i would suggest trying grounding techniques (can google those) for anxiety, etc. as if it is anxiety that is causing it, it could help calm you down before it gets to that point.

I 'd try to move walk or something even if your still stuck on a thought it might help distract from your hands.
