I need to know how best you all do it.

We speak a few languages. but we have a young one who only communicates in one of them. she can understand, but only replies back in her specific language. so if t wants to talk to her, we have to have another alter be her translator.

I am native american do all my alters know my native american language. its what I was born into, its what my parents taught me to speak and read, its what was taught in elementary, jr, high and high school. this led to all my alters knowing the native language.. that said in high school I (or as some who are not integrated may say my alter) took french and was part of a semester exchange student program. this alter became very fluent in french. At first I was worried about being able to communicate with her when I heard french wording in my head but researching this problem with my treatment provider I discovered that because native american was language I was born into, taught to speak like other parents teach their babies how to say mama and dada and other words, and what was spoken in school, that alter also knew native american they just preferred to speak the french. after that the alter was required to use native american most of the time during therapy, me and my therapist learned a few french words naturally by using google translators and real person translators. now that my alters and I are integrated I can write in french but mostly my native american language remains.
suggestion maybe this alter can write what they are saying and you and your therapist can find google translators or real person translators that can help you to talk with this alter. |

Listen to spanish channels while they speak I get happy when they speak a few lines then hide the rest. It seems as if they translate then you wonder if there is more reflective thought like for convo back and forth. I'm guessing they want to hide themselves so we wait and stay forunate love for what we know about them until the time is right...

I don't have that problem as far as I know. I have no idea how you could help them. Do you know how or where those parts of you learned to speak a different language? That's pretty intense!
