During therapy I have morphed into other "personalities," not on purpose, and I remember everything-no black-outs or missing time. It's like I'm watching myself or that I really am a different person and conscious of it. This doesn't seem to fit the DID profile so what the heck is it??? I've been a child, a humorous guy, a serious person etc, mostly when I've been triggered by fear. I remember switching from one to another, as well, and back to my "normal" self. What is happening to me?

sorry I cant tell you what is happening to you, only your therapist can tell you that...

what I can tell you is that sometimes when I am in therapy and get stressed or dealing with something hard I will sometimes have what my treatment providers call a panic reaction to being triggered where it will seem like I am moving in slow motion or a watcher outside my body as if someone else is dealing with therapy. All my alters are integrated and I am now one whole person again but the situation is very similar to when I was DID.

this panic reaction in me is called depersonalization/ derealization disorder in me.

with me medications and grounding therapy techniques help so that it doesnt keep happening.

your own therapist is the only one that can say what this is with in you given your life, meds and issues.

my suggestion is next time you see your therapist maybe you can tell them what happened and ask them what it is called in you and how to stop it for you.

You might be interested in Internal Family Systems therapy. IFS suggests that we all have "parts" with various functions, and teaches the client how to release whatever stuff the parts hold and to help them cooperate.

Here's some information:

Thank you for making this post. You sound almost identical to me but, some of my alters and even sub personalities or modes have names. Some have named themselves and some I named to help keep track of them all but, still there are others who remain nameless but, thankfully those ones don't stick around for long. Another thing is that in addition to having triggers I can change at will when I feel that it is necessary or if I'm scared. I can also ask another personality to take over for me when I feel that I need their help.
Possible trigger:
That's the best way I know how to put it. Anyway, I hope my post is of some help to you.

Here's my disclaimer... I am no professional anything except maybe slacker.
That said, I'd guess the what it is might be less important than why it is. You mentioned this happened during t time. I'm inclined to agree with what amandalouise mentioned... I have to wonder if something particularly stressful/upsetting/push-ish was going on when this happened. It might be as simple as going too fast with t and that was just how you reacted to whatever was going on. Stress can produce all kinds of responses in people. It's certainly worth talking with your t about, if for no other reason than maybe to find better ways to pace it out so you don't have to have this happen when talking to t. You're already working on things that cause fear responses (if I read right) the last thing you need in difficult times is more difficulties on top of that. Here's hoping this gets figured out for you with quickness.

We experience something that sounds similar. We have a great therapist. All the alters now trust him. Some times we will be talking about an issue/event that is specific to one particular alter or best known to one. That one will step forward to deal with it. Could be little one, older child, etc. Whoever was involved. Now we stay around so most hear the conversation & it is remembered by more than the involved alter. That wasn't always the case. Think it is a sign for us that we trust our therapist & that alters have worked thru their individual trauma & are accepted by the system. So a good 👍 thing!!

I'd ask for the DES test as a start. I think you can start a journey no matter what is happening some of this is the same premise until you get really into what needs to be understood. For instance, commentating influence who is out why executive control why a map is needed separating from the old people (alzhemizers) when you all can't remember or it seems like you are getting worse before better. I think if you read about personality or anything about moods then you will understand when you need to know what is happening. Why is it making him talk when I want quietness why is he or she stating that when the community isn't speaking to you in this way. Like I said you can go an a journey about people topics what happens on the news what you struggle what you could have done better in life, and the traumas endured.
