Due to the variety of alter types....we (some) are very consumed on looks to points of obsession.

Is there a way to break from such group thinking and concerns?

What a good question. You know, it is SO "not me", but i never really questioned it. I was always bullied into thinking it was important. But its not ME. Its a very well developed part of me, but its not me. IYKWIM.

I was bullied by various pitas/povs (pieces of vile ****) to think looks are (“supremely”) important, maybe one reason I am now a bear.

My T would say "What purpose does it serve?" She believes every behavior is there to serve a purpose that benefits the whole. If they didn't need to do that, they wouldn't.
So she says.
Thanks for this!
