When another part wants to get your attention or jump in? My T says it is a child part trying to get my attention and I am to give it a coloring book or tell it it can stay by my side while I do my work. I humored the notion of doing that the other day when it happened. I had to lay down because I was feeling as if I was going to faint and after talking to it the feeling passed within a couple of minutes and I as able to finish what my work. I have been to my doctors a few times over many years complaining about getting low blood sugar feeling for no good damn reason. I have been tested and I have no medical reason for it to be happeining.
I have not been diagnosed with DID just Complex PTSD and I have had issues in the past couple of weeks with more emotional flashbacks than usual because of some stressful life events.

This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors. |

Maybe you have hypoglycemia. When that happens to me I take a little orange flavored tablet you can get over the counter for it. Havent had to use them in awhile so dont remember the name. You can also eat a piece of hard candy or drink some juice.

Also skipping meals and/or going more than 5-6 hrs without eating can possibly cause low blood sugar. Try eating snacks with protein as having a carb and a protein gives you energy longer than just a carb. In the past when I have eaten a sugary food such as rice crispy treat I felt shakey and like I had low blood sugar a few hrs later.

I have similar experiences when communicating with an alter who is new or usually quiet. In my case I get awful headaches, followed by feeling faint and exhausted. I've found that after a few interactions with them that my headache goes away for good. I have 5 alters, and it used to happen with all of them when I was first diagnosed, but now I only get with two of them. I spoke to my therapist, and she told me about how my brain is literally re-wiring itself to deal with this new part of me. I rarely had headaches like that before, so when it started happening when trying to talk with the alters, made me scared. But now I can understand more about things. I hope you get some peace with this too.

Sometimes when certain alters switch out it feels like the bottom drops out, the ambience changes, or even physical changes as in heart rate and pressure because each alter has it’s own unique feel and even combined. In our system, a group is usually present sometimes big sometimes small...and when one leaves or another joins...things feel differently. So, everyday or times I get that “off” feeling, it’s most likely because parts are missing over actual physical conditions, unless there is an actual tangible explanation of physicality.

tip... if this is a dissociative part you can solve this problem with a bit of work. Every dissociative part (my locations wording alter) has their own sense of agency (job, purpose, reason why they have been created, how much control they have, triggers that cause them to take control, ... and much more) Dissociative parts (my locations wording alters) dont come into being out of the blue as adults, they begin in very early childhood before the bodies age of 5 when the brain has certain pathways still available for creating them. (for more on this you can take classes on the brain or talk with your treatment providers or do online researching about the brain and its functions) Since dissociative parts are there since very early childhood the associated problems have been happening all my life not just in the present. Taking these two concepts together my treatment provider and I understood to solve this problem all I needed to do was look back on my life to other times when I have felt this way. this enabled us to discover what the present day trigger was for activating that part to take control. Fix the trigger and that part no longer caused any problems, fixing the trigger made it so that I no longer switched into that part which in turn caused that part to become one with me again as one whole personality again. the trigger for this alter in me was stress. we fixed this by doing stress relief activities like taking a walk, rowing my canoe, coloring, drawing, painting, listening to audio books and relaxation tapes. my suggestion continue to work with your treatment provider they will help you to discover what the trigger is for you to be having your dissociation symptoms at work and help you to not feel like this any more. |
