So I think I understand now:
Psychotic thoughts: would be thoughts that are not in touch with reality. Like that you want to harm people. Obsessive thoughts: Thoughts were you think I didn't turn the stove off 20 times. Random thoughts: I like blue penquins: Schizophrenia thoughts: The tv talks to me. Racing thoughts: I have to much to do today I have go shopping. I think I need milk, maybe I could go shopping later, I have to go see the in laws. Alters thoughts: childlike tone Mommy, I eat ice cream, saying names like I'm so and so. Where would Meet me in the lobby it would be nice to see you followed by ok bye bye go? |

I don't know why wanting to harm somebody is necessarily a psychotic thought or not in touch with reality.

My alters just sounded like my own thoughts. It took a long time to be able to tell what was them and what wasn't.
You haven't had your DID diagnosis very long so no need to try so hard all the time.Things will reveal themselves eventually. Good job so far though. |

Me too! Mine just sound like my own thoughts but they say foreign things to me like dont trust Matthew around my niece and I know no one named Matthew.

Mine do not sound like my own thoughts, exactly. Their voices sound like other people in my mind, kind of a strange party...sometimes helpful or trying to be (giving advice or pointing something out), sometimes needy, sometimes threatening. They all have a vague image that comes with a voice.

I really don't think it's something anyone else can help you figure out since it's in your mind and nobody else's. You will eventually know though |

That's something you should be talking about with your therapist really.
There's a lot I could say and even thought about saying but I chose not to.I don't want you to be influenced by anything I say.Even though the basics are pretty much the same with DID,I think each person's experiences are an individual and unique thing. It's good to ask questions and ask for support. Its good to try to understand DID too and learn about it. But my personal opinion is it's better to stick to what you're learning and doing in therapy. That's where you should be asking all these questions and discussing every thought and concern you have about it.Your therapist knows you better than anybody. Do you do that, talk to your therapist about all the stuff you talk about here? Have you talked to her about what's in this thread to get her thoughts and opinions?Do you trust her enough to accept what she tells you? |

She tells me to talk with the thoughts and ask them questions. It always just sounds like me talking to myself and answering myself back since the thoughts all sound the same. Most of the time they dont answer anyway.
