I have asked this everywhere I can imagine to ask this and no one has even tried to explain this. Maybe because no one can. I have been diagnosed DID for 7 months now. I still do not know what thoughts are from alters and what thoughts are just random thoughts. Or what desires are coming from me Or an alter. My therapist is not DID trained. I really dont have the option of getting a DID trained therapist. I hate not being able to figure this out.

Hard to explain!! My first response is you just know!! Trying to think back. Try writing. You know how you leave a message for a roommate? Ask a question put out paper, pen and see what the response is. You can just start writing whatever comes to mind. Soon you should start seeing patterns. For example, a repeated desire to eat hamburgers. Every system is different depending on your history. But all thoughts and desires *are yours*.
