That movie Split gave me nightmares. It upset me.

Does that mean my persecutor parts are psychopaths?

They try to be protector alters now. But they are laughing.

The protector alters work with the former persecutor alters to help us stay safe.

Do we look like the Split guy to other people?

The persecutor alters want to watch Glass. I am afraid. We are not superhero psychopaths.

The persecutor alters are laughing at us.

((( safe hugs )))

I haven’t watched the movie. I suck at advice. But this sounds scary. As you know they are there for a reason.

There are some (outside) who think my grr bear is scary. I guess that is her function, to keep mean people away.

I hope you will be ok ((( safe hugs )))

Thank you @Fuzzybear

I am glad you have your grr bear to protect you guys.

I watched Split years ago, and now some of the alters want to watch Glass, but I do not. It makes DID look bad.

We stay safe though.

"Split" is a work of fiction, and it isn't based in reality. It's main character is a caricature of the disorder of DID in a fictional character with impossible abilities.
It doesn't mean anything at all about you.
Or me. Or anyone else with DID.
All parts of a DID system are ultimately there to protect the whole. Even the ones who behave in way that we wish they wouldn't. And, even if some alters are narcissistic and lack empathy (the hallmarks of someone who is a psychopath) other parts of you have empathy in buckets, and are absolutely not narcissistic, so they can't really be true psychopaths anyway. Because they are a part of the whole of you.
So, I don't think you need to worry about Split or about parts of you being a psychopath. Even if some parts needed to BE that way in order to protect the whole so you could all get through.

We watched Glass. It didn't show the kind of DID that has any basis in reality. It showed a grossly distorted view of DID that just doesn't really exist in real life. It isn't worth watching, for how triggering it can be. It had nothing good to offer anyone who experiences DID for real.
