Apparently there is a train of thought (it was mentioned in another forum and my therapist has mentioned it being a distraction) that when alters speak ot is a distraction from something else. Does anyone know where I can read more about this? Also are there any videos are websites where I can read about how negotiate with child alters. They are especially active with desires of food items at the grocery store.

Dear Rive1976,
I wish I could be helpful to you but sadly I am at a terrible loss. Hopefully others here will see your post and will have some good and helpful words for you! Sincerely yours, Yao Wen |

Probably a distraction for some but can be useful to others. Basing your input on intuitive thinking and behavior is less theory and more free thought. It can be disregarded and not read into too much. I find that it is best to give into Alter’s requests for childhood food items. What is valuable to one may be more or less valuable to another.

My therapist has said the same. If we are talking and I am lost, and I tell her that Iam sorry I was distracted by a voice or thought, she would want to know why at this moment is it important? I would have no idea. Suppose to be others trying to get my attention or something. and I would then most likely dissociate.
