I know many who have done this due to trauma on their actual birth day date. many have chosen special days that mean something to them for example some of those I know chose the 4th of july as a symbol of their independence / freedom from the past trauma that they experienced, others who were of a spirutual nature have chosen the most popualr birthdate in the word - christmas / december 25th to share with their higher power. others have chosen non holiday / non national recognized days. heres the scoop. the date on your birthdate just says its the day that you came into this world. no definition on who you are. each year that day is celebrated just to mark how many times the sun has revolved around the earth since your birth this in turn helps keep medical records and your chronological age. it does not define you or who you are. it just says you were born on this date and the sun has revolved around the earth this many times each year since you have been born, and your body has been on this earth this many years. But only you get to decide if you want to keep and celebrate that date of your birth. I also do not enjoy my birthday as it is on the same day as when my biological relative died. my day of birth comes around and I remember the funeral and such activities. The day my relative died she said to me... "dont let this day rule the rest of your life, bringing you down, celebrate this day as the day I am released from this hospital. pick another day to celebrate who you are, what represents you." So I did. I now remember that day back in 19 what ever as my biological mothers day of release and I chose another day to celebrate me, and all the parts of me that make up who and what I truly am. Every year on my "Amanda's Day" my wife and I take our children to the grandparents, then off we go for a day of celebrating me, all parts of me, everything that makes up who and what I am. we have done this before I was integrated and after, its been so amazing and healing for all of me. maybe you can do the same. rather than letting how many times the sun has revolved around the earth since you have been born, and your date of birth constantly bring you and your internal system trauma maybe you can celebrate you and your inner children by making another day be "Raging Vortex Day" and do some kind and self nurturing things for you and your internal system on Your Day. |
