I have been told in the past that I did sleepwalk. (The "experts" say the person is partly awake & partly asleep.) I didn't know I did it. So I wouldn't know if I do it now, since there's nobody around to tell me. I do know I dissociate. I also experience derealization & depersonalization. And I sometimes find evidence that I did things I don't remember doing while I was supposedly asleep. Like finding I had gone to the kitchen & fixed something to eat. So, what is the difference between sleepwalking & dissociation?

I'm not an expert but I think a doctor needs to first verify it's sleep walking and not something else. If you're appear conscious and alert then it could be DID.
From what I've read the main cause of dissociation is trauma or anxiety while sleepwalking is believed to be caused by other things but I read they don't know the cause of sleepwalking. |

Medication also causes this.

I read that practicing Mindfulness can help with dissociation.
