hi I'm new to this forum or at least i think I am. It gets kind of confusing sometimes. I've been recently diagnosed with mpd/did, although I can't say the diagnosis is a surprise for me. I don't think I 'm dealing all too well with it though. Right now I'm having a hard time because my therapist went on vacation for 2 weeks and due to work and schedule conflicts it's going to be 3 weeks in-between sessions and that's kind of freaky right now. It's only been a week so far! I'm hoping to find someone/something online to help me cope. Thanks to anyone for listening.

Hi & welcome!

Wow, what a rough time for you...just dx'ed then t gone! I'm sorry. newly diagnosed

Please remember that a dx. does *not* change who you are as a whole. You're as you've been, you're just part way there now in managing life with more awareness and some healing.

We're here and you're not alone.

Welcome to PC. I understand how not being able to see your t for so long is so hard for you. Know that I am here if you need someone to talk to or to just know there is someone who understands here. Please feel free to PM me anytime. Take care and know you are not alone.

Thanks for all the replies, it does help to know I'm not alone out here. I've pretty much alienated myself from any friends I used to have, and my family doesn't have a clue about my new diagnosis (I don't think they do anyway, sometimes it's not something easy to hide). So it's very lonely to lonely to be dealing with this by myself, especially with T gone for so long. I've been in therapy on and off with various therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and so on for years, and this is the first time an alter approached my T (which completely freaked me out), but I guess that is a good step, right?

Yep, it's a very good step that one, it happened for t to see, and two, that the alter trusted t enough to do that. newly diagnosed

Very good progress. newly diagnosed

Keep talking...
