We talked to Dr. Nanette De Fuentes
Dr. Nanette De Fuentes, PhD, Psychologist, Glendale, CA, 91203 | Psychology Today She was the only one that seemed close enough to deal with our disorder but she said she's only doing virtual telehealth and that what we described needs to be in-person therapy. But there's no way we're going back to that. That was too stressful. No worries because we always have suicide hotline and the del amo psych ward. Oh and better yet we have healthNet through medical insurance which has instant therapists on-call. We've done that a lot before when we were feeling suicidal or close to it. We just called and within minutes we're talking on the phone to a therapist. But it takes a lot for us to call because of people saying they can call the police if you're too suicidal. So we just have to be careful what we say. Like don't say "I'm about to k** myself!" |

I'm so split on getting a T. Should just toss a coin. Seems like all I did with my first T for an entire year was talk talk talk talk talk. She always had interesting comments though but that was about it. Second T, which I rarely even mention was a social worker. I was homeless at the time, kinda, just living in a tent for a few months. She rarely talked. It was just me talking and when I stopped there was uncomfortable silence. She was young and retired as a therapist after me. Guess she learned it wasn't for her. Third T was good. Over the year or 1.5 years she gave me lot of tests, spent months teaching me DBT, we spent 2-3 sessions going through the DSM analyzing every possibility for me, spent a few sessions doing EMDR. I don't know why she didn't do that much EMDR. There were times when I completely blanked out, lights out, and another alter fronted. I woke up / fronted again and had missing time. She said I was conscious the entire time, but she said my eyes suddenly darted to corner of my vision. Maybe that's why my sister and her son have sometimes got a half foot away from my eye and stared at it while she/him talked lol. That's probably when I switched. So eventually she sent me to a DID specialist on the side and I have to say he was by far the best but he really made me too nervous. He did special sessions that got the alters to front and I did not like it at all because it gave me a cold panic feeling when I came back. If I could find a T like him except someone who didn't make me feel like running out the door then that would be great. I think getting a good therapist just requires some good luck.
Anyway sorry if that's too much rambling. |
