I see much of it as a gift as well.

Not all gifts are exactly as we ordered or wanted, and some can be high maintenance even. I'd say it's alot of different things wrapped into one, but certainly a gift, and mostly a good gift. I am new here I have had this gift of MPD now for 51 years

Hi there, and welcome! It's good to have you here.

Welcome. I am fairly new here myself but I have found a family here that gives my support. Having MPD is a gift. My t told me that people who suffer from it are very intelligent and have all kinds of special gifts. The gifts are just spread out. I am very glad to include you a part of a very special family. Welcome Dovemeak

I know that being DID is a gift - it helped us survive in terrible places.

Sometimes though, I find it hard to be grateful for the gift because it messes up my adult life so many times and its doing it right now!!!

I'm glad you found your way here, there are really wonderful and kind people here.

I'm in my mid-50's and I'm looking to make some friends here for mutual support and encouragement. Glad you came!

Welcome dovemeak. I am glad you found us. I would consider DID a very special gift that we gave ourselves to endure what happened to us.

I totally know what your going through. Dissasociative Identity Disorder is some times bad and some times good. A good way to think about it is like this. Instead of having one personality with multiple moods, you have a few. Just remember that you have friends here that understand what you are going through. Can you explain what each of your personalities are like?

Hope you keep coming back on here,

Roman James

I'm glad you are here!
There are a lot of good people here.

I firmly believe that DID is a means of survival, and that it takes a strong person to come through whatever it takes to split them apart.

Sometimes it feels to me that the sum of the parts is stronger than any whole...like I think my BF is a much stronger and wiser person than I am. He has far more (and different) perspectives than I on so many things. I love his alters as I love him.
