Has anyone out here felt relieved or even happy about finding out about their other "selves" or other personalites? I did at first because it exlained so much about myself.

Understanding helps for sure, yes.

I'm still in the middle of "finding out", but it is a great relief. It's hard, and embarrassing, and, well, plain hard. But it's better than ignoring it.
Not that it explains the symptoms (though it does, but that's my last concern), but it was so hard to keep pretending it's not there. To keep guessing and selling these guesses as facts to people. Like, how was your day? - uh, fine, I guess; what flavor icecream do you like? - uh, vanilla I guess; what do you do for living? - uh, work, I guess. It's such a relief to stop guessing and just say "I don't know" when I don't know and "I don't care" when I don't care. And to not be embarrassed to answer honestly (when it's safe to, of course), even if it doesn't match what "the other me" has said earlier. That I can be me, I don't have to keep pretending to be this generalized "Curiosus" that's non-existent anyway. I was so tired of all these make-pretend games... PS: well, I guess these were my littles talking... "I guess", huh? ![]() |
