Just to share- I've been contacting my old doctors- medical & therapists. I want my records. I had gotten mine from the doc here when I changed to another 10 min away (our nurses are witches). It's the law to be able to obtain your records BUT they can charge you for copies. Which they do. It's free to your doctor but you have to pay for your own. Hey, they're MY records!! Geesh! & I found out after 4 years here, that the docs write down what they see mentally. I did not know that!! BTW, I have so many diagnosises now though. It seemed to 'change' monthly. Hmmmm. Anyways, I figure if these docs wrote down what they say (i.e. not cooperative, well duh you're treating me like crap), maybe my old ones did too. I paid $25 for these records. I'm figuring that will be the cost for other places. There's 'bout 10 that I'm getting them from, that I can recall anyways. I've seen so many docs/ therapists, I can't remember them all. I do have them written down in my diary & on the calendar. My parents are helping me pay for the copies.
A background on me a little. I was sick a lot my 9th & 10th grade. I had recurring sinus infections. I missed a week outta nearly every month those 2 years. Still nobody said anything. Even "I" knew something was wrong. Getting sick that often is not normal. I'm hoping these records will give me some insight. If I can get records from around the ages of 6,7, maybe somebody wrote something in there to fill in the puzzle in my head as to what happened to me at age 7 to split.
The law here in MI states that we can obtain our medical records. I don't know if it's the same elsewheres. You never know what they put in there. But wouldn't you like to know? When I got mine here, I didn't know they wrote down what they see of you mentally & emotionally.
Love,
RhysMadison

I think I'd be scared to see what was written down about me Records
