Ok so I am reading up on NC state law and just general divorce law. Related to Child support. Yes I feel I should pay child support but I don't think it's fair based on my ex's non employed status.

Well it seems that someone could be deemed voluntarily unemployed or underemployed based on their employment record. Considering my ex worked for over 10 years as a graphic designer making $16+ dollars an hour full time, I think it's fair to assume that with her degree, she is voluntarily unemployed at the moment.

Has anyone here done anything related to working with child support with an ex that is or was voluntarilly unemployed? How much trouble was it to get the child support order adjusted more fairly based on this?

An update: I've worked it out with her and basically she's agreeing on an amount that I can pay that is less than what the calculation would be.
