I was incarcerated for 50 months and 2 days. During the 13th month and the 23 month, my wife had a relationship with another man. Because I was incarcerated and unavailable to her, I'm not sure how to process this information. Did she cheat? We had been married for 17 great years up to that point and had 4 children. Did she cheat on me?

Technically yes....
What counts is can you come to terms with this information? Does she feel regret, does she want to make things work with you going forward? Good Luck

If she came back to you, count your blessings.

How seriously did she take her vows? For better or for worse? Doesn't sound like she did so hot on the for worse part. Love is love. Doesn't matter if someone is incarcerated or not. She didn't have to cheat on you. That's a choice, plain and simple.

I might say the same about the OP, how seriously did he take his vows if he did something to jeopardise the marriage and his family's welfare by going to jail.
I would consider that a betrayal of sorts. But two wrongs most certainly don't make a right. So technically yes she cheated, but then you left her when you wound up in jail.
