Hello, I posted the below in my introduction, but probably more suited to this forum:

Hello, I'm new to any kind of support group or forum. I have been going through a very difficult time, due to an upcoming separation from my spouse. We have a 2.5 year old child, and I'm finding the possibility of being away from him, even just a couple nights a real problem for me. I am a very involved father and have been the primary care giver from my perspective. I am actually considering trying to stay in the relationship so I can stay involved. This would be a high conflict separation with court involved over custody. Staying in the relationship would put me in a very miserable position, as there is some kind of mental health issue going on with my spouse. I don't know enough about what's happening to her but t's a walking on egg shells type of relationship for me. She has been aggressive, angry and explosive in the past. I don't want to expose our child to any of this, on the other hand some form of shared custody seems like a nightmare to me as well. I want to be mentally healthy and be a good father and do what's best for him. Does anyone have any kind of similar experience or advice? interested in hearing stories good and bad please. types of feelings and coping strategies to get by.
