As I start each day with a rush of anxiety as soon as I open my eyes, I still hope for a better day. I am still unable to gain the physical, emotional and mental strength necessary to carry on each day and be productive. I am in so much pain and have so much uncertainty. Why do I suffer each day while he is, as he says, Very Happy? I didn't do anything wrong. I saved his life and then he decided to spend the rest of it with someone else, who is almost young enough to be his daughter. He has everything and someone and I have nothing and no one. The pain runs deep.

Hi @NeedGoodLuck. I am sorry the relationship you were in has come to an end. It does not help that they are doing relationship hopping while you are mourning, but that is not real happiness in my eyes. That is only shoving all the problems in the closet until they come falling out of the closet again. Someone does not leave their problems behind, they take them with them and may not have learned anything from the last relationship. Dating a younger woman has its challenges as they are at different points in life and have different life demands and wants.
There are no easy answers for how to start the healing process. One thing I found helps me is a daily routine. I include exercise, eating healthy low carb diet with good amount of protein, going to support groups, and focusing on work or volunteering. It is not easy but you are not the problem. They sound like they treated you unfairly and painfully ended the relationship. What did you learn about the warning signs of that type of person so you can avoid that kind of situation in the future? If this is too difficult to answer on your own, maybe a counselor or therapists can help you sort out the pieces and put your life back together. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

I understand your pain. For the past 2 months I have felt like someone was inside my chest mincing my heart with razor blades. I know it will pass but still, it has not yet. I try to just breathe, to tell myself I am alive, I will survive, to count backwards from 100 by 3s, to distract myself with Netflix, to talk to friends, to help the time pass. Someday it will not hurt this much. For either of us. Hang in there!
