Hi,
I am seeking advice related to divorce and separation. I got married two years back in India. My husband and I were struggling since the beginning but last year in December we had a major argument and we decided to get a divorce. I have been living in Australia for almost 22 months now. I consulted a divorce lawyer early this year to understand the process to apply for divorce and they mentioned that my marriage was falling under short marriage case and there will be additional formalities and advised me to wait till December ( when two years get completed), now I am eligible though I want to understand is there a process like filing an annulment and is it valid in India. What will be complications to apply for divorce here and how much time it will take to get processed.. |

Hi @Krit607 - welcome to MSF My Support Forums. I am sorry your marriage is not working as expected. That must be a challenge for you with the legal entanglements.
Your question is one that a lawyer could answer or a woman support group specializing in this area. Unfortunately this is a peer to peer mental health site and any opinions people state about legal details of divorce would constitute only their opinions. I would advise you to seek the assistance of a professional to get the reliable information about divorce that you seek. Divorce can be an emotionally difficult thing to go through. Many people here have gone through divorce. If you are looking for emotional support and empathy, that is what this site is for. Hope you get the support you are looking for. __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |
