Hi Carissa,
i used to be anorexic, to the point where i was threatened with hospitalization. i would recommend therapy as i never had it and i had to pull myself out of by myself which is a lot harder than and once the anorexia was over i just moved onto other forms of self-destructive behavior. i guess in the end you have to believe in yourself enough to believe that u are better than the illness, b/c when u have that u will be able to face the world without it and no longer have any need for it. pm me if u wanna talk some more or need anything.

Hi Carissa,
I have a child who is anorexic and we have been trying to help her as best we can, the hardest part has been for us to learn about the disease( and I do know it's a disease) anyway try this website, www.connectwithkids.com. They have a wonderful tape called "Mirror Mirror". I saw the program at a parent meeting at my sons school and was very impressed. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. I went to www.connectwithkids.com and ordered not only that video, but other videos dealing with different kid issues. The videos are unique because they use real kids and their stories are true. There is NO ACTING. My child could really relate. Thanks for the tip.
