Hi Brennan! - First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! and welcome to the forum
![]() ![]() well....purging / starving / excessive exercising / wanting to get rid of what youve eaten (even if thats nothing) / keeping behaviour secret.... its certainly all adding up to eating disorder behaviour. Are you getting any help and support regarding all this? I mean specifically from someone or an organisation expereinced in ED's? Take a look around the resources posts, and Im sure youll get some good support on this forum aswell. Best Wishes, and I hope you find your way to care for yourself in a more loving way, Matt C

Quote:
An eating disorder develops over time, and depends upon frequency and upon how out of control the individual is over their behavior and feelings. Emotional and psychological difficulties play an enormous part. But by starting purging as a means of weight control, you are inviting an eating disorder on yourself which is heartbreaking and reckless. Not only that, but purging has such terrible consequences for your health long term. And it is sooooooooo not the way to go to prevent weight gain anyway. How long have you been binge eating? (and that raises the question as to what do you consider 'binge eating'?) The problem with purging is that it doesnt stop or make up for the binge eating. And after time, people can become attached to the purging itself...so people can end up binging in order to purge. It becomes a horrible viscous circle that people can spend years trying to escape. Please start to educate yourself more around these issues and on normal healthy eating. If you are not able to stop this behavior easily, then please speak to a doctor or counsellor or someone else to help you before it goes on longer. This is not a road anyone should choose to go down... Good luck and Best Wishes, Matt C
