What tests do I need to have to make sure I have not done any long term problems? My husband wants me to make sure I haven't done physical damage.

I'm interested to hear these answers. My T is trying to get me in for an assessment at a local ED clinic. I'm thinking they might tell me as part of it if I can only make the call and get myself in for it.

A full blood work up, check for vitamins and nutrient deficits. I am not sure how but possibly check the heart as a lot of damage can occur to that organ as a result. Maybe other function tests on other organs, have you had liver and or kidney function tests with your meds MM? Bone density tests can be done, osteoporosis is a common result of prolonged anorexia.

When I was seeing my dr and dietician they did a lot of blood work up's and checked all my nutrients for deficits. Other than that they went by symptoms reported.

I hope that helps a little. It might be different in the states since we have a different health system.

You will probably have to push to get anything beyond basic labs done- I know when I have been at an anorexic bmi they have only run labs although when I was going to go inpatient they wanted an EKG done to make sure my heart was okay. My docs have never assessed me for osteoporosis but I'm sure if I raised it as a concern they would.

I was tested for osteoporosis, My Blood glucose, and Cholesterol came back weird within the last 11 yrs but nothing further was thought of it. I do not digust food though. I have not had any test done on my organ function. I found a list of the test needed. I think I might make an appointment with my GP and ask for the tests given my eating disorder "history"
