Someday, I won't have an eating disorder and life will be great.

There would be rainy days, but there wouldn't be wreaking-havoc storms.
There would be body malfunctions, but there wouldn't be bloating, constipation, diarrhea, achy bones, pounding headaches, raw throats, heart palpitations, dehydration.
There would be social pressures, but there wouldn't be looking-right-through-you-in-disgust stares.
There would be anxieties, but there wouldn't be panic attacks, hyperventilating, blood-sucking fears.
There would be bad dreams, but there wouldn't be wake-up-gasping-for-air-drenched-in-sweat nightmares.
There would be sickness, but there wouldn't be day in and day out fatigue, head in the toilet, laxative-abuse stomach pains.
There would be exercise, but there wouldn't be early morning runs, late night runs, jumping jacks in bathroom stalls during lunch break, 3 gym memberships.
There would be tears, but there wouldn't be drowning-in-an-ocean, take your breath away sobs.
There would be arguments, but there wouldn't be smashing plates, holes in walls, police breakups.
There would be bad days, but there wouldn't be to live or to die decisions.
There would be fun. Actual, genuine fun.
There would be food. Not too little, not too much.
There would be laughter. Laughter that hurts your belly.
There would be love. Love that you can actually feel.
There would be peace. Silence in your head peace.

Someday, life will be great.
Not today, but someday.

I hope you get your someday very soon. It's so hard isn't it? Hang in there.

Are you in treatment?

I just wanted to let you know how much this resonated with me. Thank you for posting this. "Someday." I hope that day comes sooner rather than later. Don't forget, though, that that day CAN and WILL come for us.

Thanks. It is SOO hard all the time, geez!

I have been to 2 inpatient facilities, but I am now seeing an AMAZING therapist who is extremely helpful. I have made a ton of progress, it's just so hard because there is so much still to do.
