Is it possible to be physically unable to purge (in the sense of throwing up that is)??
It is just something i've never been able to do...ever! (a very good thing for my own health i'm sure though)
Just wondering if i'm totally weird here or what....?

I don't want to tell you yes or no. It's for the best that you aren't able to purge--the addiction is too much after you do it for so long. Please don't go down that path!

Do you mean you haven't been able to make yourself throw up, or you've never thrown up?

It's not good to make yourself throw up, in most cases, unless you've been poisoned (and only certain types of poison, I believe). So, being able to might be good in that case, but in general, it's not.

If you've never thrown up (like from being sick), that might not be a good thing, since throwing up rids your body of things it feels is harmful to you. Or maybe you've never had anything inside you that would cause you to throw up, but I would consider that unusual. If this is the issue, you might want to consult a doctor to see what s/he thinks.

But on the making yourself throw up thing, don't feel bad. I've never been able to do it...mostly because I chickened out! weird question? I tried it when I was a kid, not since then, trying to fake sick to get out of school! weird question? If I start to feel that sensation, I start trying not to throw up, LOL! weird question?

I mean it in the sense that i can't make myself throw up. Either that or I am able to, but not nearly enough to make any sort of difference (to keep from being to graphic lol).

I have thrown up many a time during sickness, so as far as that goes I am "normal" i guess.

I know it's a good thing, especially that i cannot go down that dangerous path, but still i have that biting curiosity: "is it just me?" ya know?

It took me years before I actually "could."

Until then, it was nights of busted blood vessels, red, water eyes, and useless explanations.
And before you know it, your body rejects ANYTHING you put in it, purging against your will.

I know you're honestly curious...but I promise, it isn't worth it to try.

ive tried to puke...i just cant do it...i did find an easier way to do it...but i am not going to tell you....
its a good thing you cant puke....while some people can do it with a blink of an eye...id sit by the toliet for hours with a finger down my throat and nothing....
with anything you just gotta know how your body responds...i am not telling you AT ALL to go find that ....i was better at starving myself than throwing up..mind you i was never remotely pleased at throwing up.....i would try everything and anything when i wasnt bulimic for a short time to not throw up...go figure
Id say just let the question rest...dont force yourself to do...dont even want to do it..its not fun...since youve thrown up when your sick you should know that....
good luck at NOT doing it.....
love ,Inny

Thanks guys, trust me it's not something that i want at all. I believe everyone who has told me that it's a terrible path to take and it's one I don't intend to take. I was in the "regretting" stage post-eating and found myself attempting that method to possibly accomodate the guilt.
I will avoid it withall in the future, thanks so much for your answers!

It can have a lot of physical (let alone emotional) consequences, anyway. Damaged teeth and potentially ripping your stomach lining are only a couple.
